Nicole Scherzinger of Louisville is judge on X-Factor

 

X-Factor's two day season-premiere continues Thursday night. Locally, people are excited about the Louisville connection to the show. Nicole Scherzinger grew up in Louisville. Her family is proud of what she's accomplished.In Beverly and Ron Scherzinger's Louisville home, you'll see many family photos, including their famous niece Nicole Scherzinger. They knew early on she had talent.

Ron says, "She's always been the sweetest thing. As a child since, I think, before she was five years old, she was a singer. She would perform for her family."In Kentuckiana, people are excited to see a local girl who has hit it big. She moved to Louisville when she was four years old, going on to attend JCPS schools.

Scherzinger went to the Youth Performing Arts School. She credits Y-PAS for her success. Beverly says, "They have really guided her. They have actually followed her. Her teachers from the past went to her performance here in Louisville.

Y-PAS has been a strong presence in her life."Scherzinger was on a reality TV show called "Pop Stars" and was part of the group Eden's Crush. She then became the lead singer of the Pussy Cat Dolls and now is a solo artist.

Her latest gig is being a judge on the X-Factor, joining Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and L.A. Reid.
Beverly says, "She says she gets the opportunity to see a side of Simon that not everyone gets to see. I think he always he comes across as hardcore. But she says he's really a softie at heart."

Family members still think of Scherzinger as the little girl they've watched grow up. Beverly says, "Nicole is a very genuine person. She's very personable, very loving, not really the sex goddess from her performances. I do feel like she's earned her place in entertainment."

 

Ron mentions, "She's conservative, she goes to church," and how she dresses in the public is not how they see her. They say at home, she likes to spend time with family, which is really important to her.
Scherzinger doesn't get back to Louisville much, but her family is expecting to see her during the holidays. They're proud of the role model she is becoming for young talent on and off the show.Beverly says, "We feel like she has always had the X-Factor. So we think it's real appropriate that she's on this show."X-Factor airs Thursday night from 8 to 10, only on WDRB
